Play Spades

Spades is a team bidding game. The aim of the spades game is to win the total number of tricks that has been bid by your team.

Normally when you play spades four people play as fixed pairs. The partners are decided between the four people or the partners are decided by some kind of draw from the deck of cards. The partners making a team sit opposite to each other, with the aim being to win the number of tricks made by the team.

When you play spades in the dealing each player will draw a card from the 52 card deck to decide on who will be dealing first. The player who has the highest ranking card will be the dealer. After that every player is dealt with 13 cards, after which the next player’s chance to deal is turned around clockwise.

Before the player make the bidding, the players will look in to their cards, which they were dealt with and then they will make an analysis of the number of tricks they will be able to win in the game if they are going to bid.

The number of estimated tricks between the partners is known as the contract when you play spades. Each player is supposed to make at least a single trick. In this particular game since spades are going to be trumps there is no declaration of the suit which makes the trumps and no passes are permitted when you play spades.
